Hamam

Hamam (or Turkish bath) is the eastern version of steam-bath and considered a wet version of the sauna. Hamams played a determinant role in the culture of Eastern countries since they have been meeting places, areas of purification and architectural beauty.

The Europeans get acquainted with hamams through contact with Turkey. Hamams had been also operating in Thessaloniki in the biggest part of the twentieth century. The last traditional hamam “Phoenix Baths” had shut down after 1981 earthquakes.

Dreamway spa offers to guests a modern hamam with all traditional features.
